Gaming philosophy

I plan on writing a longer post about this (at some point when I have less blood in my caffeine system), but, at the moment, I think I can sum up my gaming philosophy with this quote from the Privateer Press forums:

"The objective of the game is to win. The point of the game is to have fun. The two should never be confused." - Not Dice

  1. That's actually a quote/mis-quote? of reiner knizia, the german game designer.

  2. Thanks. Did a quick hunt, and it looks like the original quote is "When playing a game, the goal is to win, but it is the goal that is important, not the winning" (Dr. Reiner Knizia). Not sure if it a misquote, or a variation on a theme to make it more understandable to an American audience.
